School authorities: around 100 suspected CoV cases – salzburg.ORF.at
timeline
The seven-day incidence of 15 to 19 year olds in Salzburg Nonne is more than 4,100. This age group mostly still attends middle and high schools. For them Monday started again.
Nationwide, around 85 percent of the students in Salzburg are present on Monday. One has been and is being tested, the school authorities expect a total of around 100 suspected cases nationwide. These must then be clarified by the authorities using a PCR test.
Four tests in the first week
One is prepared in the schools, says the responsible state councilor Daniela Gutschi (ÖVP): “With three tests a week we have made schools the best controlled places in the country. There are even four tests this week. An antigen test is carried out on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. An additional PCR test on Wednesday. Starting next week there will be an antigen test on Monday and a PCR test on Tuesday and Thursday “.
Mouth and nose protection is currently mandatory in schools up to the eighth grade, and an FFP-2 mask must be worn from the ninth grade. This measure would help keep schools open, Gutschi said.
School lockdown for state councilor not likely
If a student tests positive, the following rule is gold-plated: If the case is positive, all students are tested in the following five days. If two or more students get positive within five days, the class is sent to distance learning for five days. Parents are then entitled to special care needs, says the regional councilor.
A school lockdown is not an option for Regional Councilor Gutschi. Distance learning would be used instead. This is currently the case across the country in five classes, including the Forstau elementary school (Pongau), however, because two out of three teachers tested positive.
