A BOLA – Sporting scores and moves forward in the Portuguese Cup (Women’s Football)
Sporting thrashed UD Polvoreira (14-0), in a match of the 2nd round of the Cup of Portugal, held this Sunday afternoon, at Estádio Aurélio Pereira, at Academia Leonina, in Alcochete.
Mariana Cabral’s team did not feel any previous difficulties from an opponent who, strictly speaking, did what they could, but the truth is that the difference in quality between the two teams dictated the fat result in favor of the lions.
Chandra Davidson (3), Joana Marchão and Francisca Silva scored the goals that took Sporting ahead at half-time, with Vera Cid, Neuza Besugo, Maísa Correia, Maria Ferreira (2), Cristiana Martins, Cátia Cunha (in own goal) ), Joana Dantas and Alícia Correia scored the goals in the complementary stage.
The rout of the green and white emblem also allowed several debuts to be scored for the first team: Maísa Correia (15 years old, the youngest ever in the club’s history to achieve such a feat), Francisca Silva, Cristiana Martins, Vera Cid , Maria Ferreira and Joana Dantas will never forget this match.
Having guaranteed access to the next round of the queen competition of Portuguese football, Sporting is already aiming for batteries for the next round of the BPI League, which reserves for the lionesses a welcome to Famalicão, in the 3rd round of the qualifying round, scheduled for 1 pm the next Sunday.
