VILLENEUVE-LEZ-AVIGNON Pascale Bories presents her wishes on video and announces her projects
For this new year again, the mayors will send their wishes to the population in video, a very degraded health context requires. The opportunity to prepare the most beautiful staging and images but also to announce the projects for the year. Pascale Bories, mayor of Villeneuve-lez-Avignon, is doing quite well in the exercise.
She first of all congratulated the responsiveness of health professionals, the town hall of Villeneuve and neighboring municipalities to open the intercommunal vaccination center: “This energy and this association made it possible to carry out nearly 30,000 injections in the space of ten months.“She was also delighted with the return of the entertainment despite still constrained conditions.
Preserving and improving the living environment remains one of the top priorities in Villeneuve. Among the projects that may have contributed to this, Pascale Bories lists the Via Rhôna cycle loop: “This track will be extended to the historic center via a secure path suitable for soft trips, whether professional or recreational.“
There is also the resumption of roads on the program, in particular the rue Porte rouge, Saint-Roch and de l’Amelier. “With the support of the departmental council, we will soon be working on the requalification of boulevard Frédéric-Mistral to ensure more pedestrians. Trucks over 19 tonnes can no longer pass through this ax“, continues the mayor.
Another important aspect: the conservation of the historical heritage and in particular the delivery of the Thurroye which has just been acquired by the City. On the early childhood side, the children of Thomas-David kindergarten will soon have lunch in a brand new joint canteen with the Joseph-Lhermitte school. Pascale Bories adds a last project: “Round ball lovers will benefit from a renovated annex stadium for the next school year.“
