Two new players for FC Vaduz – Liechtenstein
VADUZ – Fabio Fehr and Anes Omerovic with the toughness of the FC Vaduz squad.
With Fabio Fehr, a young outrunner comes to FC Vaduz on loan with the option of a permanent takeover from the Grasshoppers in Zurich. The 21-year-old former Swiss international will sign a contract until the summer of 2022. Fehr completed all of the Grasshoppers’ training levels and was loaned to FC Schaffhausen for half a year last summer. Now the native of Uznach is also moving to Vaduz. «We are very happy that we were initially able to bring Fabio to Vaduz on loan. He’s a player we’ve had in mind for a long time and can be used on the left as well as on the right. In the meantime he has scored three goals and eight assists in 51 competitive games in the Challenge League », said sports director Franz Burgmeier on the occasion of the signing of the contract.
Furthermore, with Anes Omerovic, a new central defender will join FC Vaduz. The 23-year-old Austrian comes from FC Dornbirn to FCV and signs a contract for 2.5 years until the summer of 2024. Omerovic switched to Aston Villa at the age of 16 and tried to approach professional football there. After almost two years, however, the chapter ended in the city of Birmingham and he returned to Austria. In January 2019 he finally switched to FC Dornbirn, where he was most recently still under contract after a short detour to FC Winterthur. Sports director Franz Burgmeier was quoted as follows about the new personnel: “With his 1.90 m, Anes is a physically stronger player and has a very good left foot. In addition, it can be used in the central defender position as well as on the 6-man position. After moving to England early on, Anes relaunched his career in Austria and developed into a leading player in Dornbirn. He’s also a player from the region, which fits in very well with our philosophy. “
