15 museums and monuments in Lisbon will be upgraded by the end of 2025
In total, the cost of these tools is around 57 million euros.

Anastácio Gonçalves House Museum, Jerónimos Monastery, Museum of Popular Art, National Archeology Museums, ancient art, Contemporary Art of Chiado, Ethnology, Tile, Theater and Dance, Costume, Coaches (Royal and New Riding Arena), National Palace of Ajuda, National Pantheon and Belém Tower. These are the 15 museums and monuments in the city of Lisbon that will be reclassified and valued by the end of 2025.
The actions were defined by the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage in articulation with the directors of these cultural facilities and include actions for the restoration and rehabilitation of the building, the improvement of exhibition contents, signage and other valorization actions, as well as actions that contribute to environmental sustainability.
Among the projects to be developed, the most important are the extensive remodeling of the National Archeology Museum; the enhancement of the nucleus comprising the National Theater and Dance Museum, the National Costume Museum and the Monteiro Mor Park; the redevelopment of the National Tile Museum; the remodeling of the jewelery core and the reserves of the National Museum of Ancient Art; the creation of visitor support structures, ticket offices and stores in the Torre de Belém and the National Pantheon; and actions for the conservation and restoration of the Mosteiro dos Jerônimos and the Ajuda Palace and surrounding area.
The cost of tools is around 57 million euros, with funding provided by the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan.
