MINSK, 3 Jan – Sputnik. The popular payment service TIX and the “Pay” system will be closed in Belarus on February 1, according to the service website. “The service for payment of fares in public transport TIX is completing pilot operation and will stop its activities from February 1, 2022,” they explain. It is noted that the ability to purchase tickets was disabled on December 31 from 16:00, but those users who previously purchased passes can use them until January 31 inclusive. The application could be used in Minsk and Brest on all ground public transport services, in Grodno and Gomel – only on bus routes and in Bobruisk – on trolleybus routes. You could download it to your cell phone via GooglePlay or AppStore, create an account and link your bank card to it. You can pay for your fare using a QR code, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Recall that in March 2021, a biometric fare payment system was launched in the Minsk metro.
