TAP will have more flights between Porto and Lisbon next summer – O Jornal Económico
The warm months of 2022 mark more air travel between the country’s two largest cities. TAP announced this Wednesday that it will reinforce the air bridge between Lisbon and Porto with two more flights next summer.
The Portuguese capital and Invicta will thus have more than ten air connections per day operated by TAP. The objective is also to optimize connections to all the destinations that the airline makes on its cube of Lisbon and “reinforce the commitment to the North”, according to the company led by Christine Ourmières-Widener.
In addition, TAP is going to increase the offer of intercontinental flights departing from Porto to the Brazilian cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, with one more flight per week each, to fuel tourism. In other words, there will be three weekly flights from Porto to São Paulo and two flights a week from Porto to Rio de Janeiro.
This week, TAP will receive an injection of 536 million euros, in accordance with Government regulations. No abstract This afternoon’s Cabinet of Ministers, the finance minister said that the air carrier’s revenues next year report better than expected.
“In the TAP determination program, the scenario that was created for 2021 and 2022 was conservative and, therefore, the perspectives we now have on the evolution of revenue in the company do not differ”, began by explaining João Leão. “In 2021, the final value was very close to estimated and it is expected that in 2022 it will even be better than anticipated”, said the responsible for Finance, at a press conference.
