Guldvog believes Norway will have a short time at the end of January
The case is being updated.
– In January and February, we believe that we will be able to carry out the testing we need, Guldvog says VG.
In the face of the outbreak of the omicron variant, rapid tests and important measures to gain control of the infection situation will take place, says the director of health. Earlier in December, the health authorities pointed out that more tests could replace more intrusive measures.
– We will now procure self-tests and rapid tests so that we can test everyone in the population on average once a week, Guldvog says.
However, this does not mean that everyone will get one weekly fastest each. In the capital, only priority groups receive self-tests.
Guldvog says that they have received assurances about deliveries this year and the weeks in January. According to the plan, Norway will receive 3.4 million rapid tests in week 51, and 2.2 million in week 52. On Tuesday, Guldvog said that Norway has purchased 30 million rapid tests.
– The large quantities come especially in the third week of January, says Guldvog, who adds that it is still unclear how much will come at different times.
