Salzburg’s parties call on critics of CoV measures to refrain from demonstrations over the coming weekend. They do not want to restrict the right to demonstrate, but the holidays should be used for peaceful reflection, they say. The FPÖ also joins.
Demonstrations against the CoV measures are also approved for the coming Christmas weekend in Salzburg. The organizers have long registered their events for all Sundays, including December 26th. All political parties in Salzburg are now calling not to demonstrate this weekend. The FPÖ, which recently mobilized for demonstrations itself, is in favor of not doing this weekend.
“In the spirit of Christmas peace”
“Even if the democratic right to demonstrate is of course indivisible, we believe that Christmas is the time of contemplation, contemplation and also the celebration of the family. Public rallies should perhaps be kept at a distance, especially in times of Christmas peace. One should look for what is common and not argue, ”says FPÖ member of the state parliament Andreas Schöppl.
Over the past few weekends, several thousand people have demonstrated against the CoV measures in Salzburg.
