Associação Zero wants Portugal to be an “economy for well-being”
The environmentalist association Zero launched, this Friday, a manifesto with more than 120 sustainability ideas to be discussed in the scope of the campaign for the legislatives.
A little over a month of updates, in a declaration to Renaissance, the president of Zero, Francisco Ferreira, explains some proposals that they want to see debated.
“We raised questions such as the need for Portugal to assume itself as an economy for well-being. We would like, in line with the Basic Climate Law, to anticipate the naturalness of the climate”, he says.
Among the short-term issues are the need for national development to combat poverty and noise, and for a “true application” of the National Plan for Spatial Planning Policies.
“We need medium, long-term financing for many structural issues of the environment and the Recovery and Resilience Plan and other investments must have this vision of resilience in the medium, long term”, he maintains.
In addition to these ideas, Zero also defends that 2030 is the deadline for the commercialization of vehicles with combustion engines in Portugal or asks for the conclusion of the National Rail Plan. Ideas for debate in the legislative campaign.
