Jervois Global appoints Mr. Louis Martin as Group Manager – Taxation and establishes a trading office in Switzerland

December 23, 2021 (Australia) – TheNewswire – Jervois Global Limited (“Jervois” or the “Accompaniment”) (ASX: JRV) (TSXV: JRV) (OTC: JRVMF) is pleased to announce that Mr. Louis Martin will take effect as Group Manager – Taxation, based in the company’s new trading office in Nyon, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland , occurred April 1, 2022.
Mr. Martin comes to Jervois with more than 30 years of tax experience and began his professional career at Deloitte and then at Ernst & Young. As a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, Mr. Martin worked for the first time with the current Jervois management team and advised Xstrata plc (“Xstrata“) On the acquisition of the Canadian base metal company Falconbridge Limited (“Falcon Bridge“). Upon completion of the acquisition in 2006, he was hired as Vice President of Taxation at Xstrata, overseeing the restructuring and integration of Falconbridge’s global operations. After the subsequent takeover of Xstrata by his youngest employer, Glencore plc (“Glencore“), Mr. Martin moved in 2013 as Global Head of Taxation for the copper sector to Baar, Switzerland, where he was responsible for both the operating assets and trading activities.
Mr. Martin will start at Jervois on April 1, 2022, at the end of his current notice period.
Mr. Martin has extensive experience dealing with tax authorities in a number of jurisdictions in which Jervois operates. Mr. Martin will remain based in Switzerland and will work in the new Jervois commercial office in Nyon in the canton of Vaud.
Jervois Switzerland SA was founded with effect from December 16, 2021. This entity will host Jervois’ emerging global nickel and cobalt trading activities, which are structured and built around the three current and future operations of Jervois Finland (formerly known as Freeport Cobalt.), Jervois USA (Idaho Cobalt Operations) and Jervois Brazil (currently includes the São Miguel Paulista Nickel-Cobalt Refinery, with purchase option from Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio (“CBA“), a listed controlled subsidiary of Votorantim SA, a Brazilian family conglomerate.
In addition to Jervois’ commercial and tax functions, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Bryce Crocker, will also be based in the Nyon office.
