In 2020 he inaugurated his first personal exhibition in San Marino entitled “Greetings from the Anthropocene!”.
The Anthropocene landscape is at the center of Viola Conti’s artistic research, who in a constant dialogue between sound and image investigates the complexity of a world profoundly shaped by human action. In his work, the artist describes his personal experience of the contemporary landscape through absences and subtractions, mergers and juxtapositions, giving an authorial and poetic gaze to a documentary action. Investigating the relationship between music and visual art and between music and landscape, the artist uses photography and video to create multimedia installations and live media performances where music and images not only coexist, but cooperate in creating an immersive atmosphere. .
The project involves an exchange of roles between Viola Conti and Tong Yanrunan, one will be the curator of the other’s exhibition and vice versa.
