Walls of Pisa also open for the holidays
Walking at high altitude to admire the beauty of the Pisan monuments and the panorama of the mountains, one urban walk 11 meters high immersed in the green city: even during the Christmas period the Ancient Walls of Pisa are open to visitors from Friday to Sunday from 10 to 16 with last admission at 15.30, also a Boxing day and New Year’s Eve. Single day of closed on Saturday 25 December.
Full ticket for 3 euros, reduced to 2 euros for residents, free for children up to 8 years. Ascents and descents from all entrances: Santa Maria Tower in Piazza dei Miracoli, Piezometric Tower, Piazza delle Gondole, Torre di Legno. All according to Covid rules: Green Pass and mask required. For safety reasons the route in bad weather such as rain and strong wind closes. For people with disabilities, ascent and descent to the Piezometric Tower, in Piazza delle Gondole and to the Torre di Legno behind the Piazzetta del Rosso.
Last places available for the special visits ‘Walls of Pisa Night Experience’ program for Saturday 1 and 8 January at 6 pm: an unpublished and original story through immersive projections and audio to relive the history of the city from the Roman era to the medieval glories, from the industrial revolution to the present day. CoopCulture, Itinera Cooperative and Promocultura constitutes the association of companies that manages the walkway at height of the Antiche Mura di Pisa. Built between the 12th and 13th centuries, the Walls of Pisa are an example of the military architecture of the time, a sign of the greatness of the Pisan Republic and today a privileged point of view from which to admire the city.
