Series of acts of violence: imprisonment for three young women in Salzburg
The female trio, 18 to 20 years old, had tortured, threatened, stolen or even robbed several victims according to the indictment in varying degrees of involvement in the offense.
Most of the time it is male defendants who are convicted of violent and aggression crimes in court, but not always. On Tuesday, three young women – a Serb (18), a Turkish (20) and a local (19) – were found guilty of sometimes brutal attacks on other young people. It was about humiliation and threats against the victims, but also about robbery. For example, a boy with a different sexual orientation was beaten and stolen from a handbag and jacket, while a teenager was kicked and stolen from candy, and another girl was given a lighted cigarette on the recipient’s cheek.
The youth jury senate (chaired by Judge Bettina Maxones-Kurkowski) finally imposed the following sentences on the three already considerable numbers of girls: 18 months partially conditional imprisonment (six months of which unconditional) for the Serbian, seven months partially conditional (two unconditionally) for the Turkish woman, five months Absolute imprisonment for the Austrian. Legally binding.
In the case of a fourth accused – a Nigerian (17) – the trial will continue on January 18 – she was unable to come to trial on Tuesday due to illness.
