Safetyflex Barriers completes major Sweden contract | Midlands Manufacturing News
Coventry-based Safetyflex Barriers has strengthened the defense of another European city after completing a major contract in Sweden.
More than 100 bollards have been installed around a shopping parade in Stockholm to protect the public from threats of vehicle attacks.
The LED lighting bollards are part of its collision-rated range of street furniture (HVM).
Marcus Gerrard, director of Safetyflex, said: “With the threat of vehicle attacks constantly present, more and more major cities are now choosing Safetyflex Slimline products.
“While traditional steel pipe bollards can be over-impressive and require deep foundations that can interfere with tools, our range offers a slim, cost-effective solution.
“The project in Stockholm provides a robust defense for shoppers, with materials of military quality that have been tested to stop either a car or a truck traveling at up to 80 km / h.
“Our bollards also include LED lights to illuminate the street at night, which means it does not compromise on public safety or aesthetics.
“We are delighted to have been able to help provide these new defenses in time for a hectic period of Christmas shopping.”
The system is the latest in a series of projects that Safetyflex has secured in collaboration with the Swedish distributor Perimeter Protection Sweden.
