substitute in Barcelos and holder of the Portuguese Cup
Recovered from injury, midfielder and resting Ugarte. Must go back to eleven with Casa Pia
The blanket is short and Rúben Amorim’s physical management has allowed the usual substitutes and starters to get closer in terms of game minutes, in order to have a squad prepared for any situation. On Wednesday, Sporting visits Casa Pia, in the Portuguese Cup, and João Palhinha is one of the players who will enter the rotation, but not to be spared as usual, but to play from the beginning to recover the rhythm he lost to the miss four matches due to injury (Benfica, Ajax, Boavista and Penafiel).
It is in the cups that Amorim runs the team the most to test as second rows and give them rhythm, but it is also an opportunity for some heavyweights to recover, as happened in the past with Pedro Gonçalves against Os Belenenses. The downtown of Palhinha demands a lot from Ugarte, who also needs rest. Against Gil Vicente, with a yellow card for the Uruguayan, the technician has already promoted the exchange between the two units, allowing a Palhinha to start adding minutes.
But, as usual, with Casa Pia the changes don’t stop there. Tabata, who served a suspension game against Gil, plus João Virgínia, Nazinho, Bragança and Nuno Santos should also enter the eleven. At the center of the defense, things get complicated, given the unavailability of Esgaio, Porro, Vinagre and Feddal and, now, of Neto. The rotation is necessary on the axis, but Coates, Inácio and Matheus Reis only called with young people from B or under-23 as an alternative.
