Princess Madeleine and the children are back in Sweden to celebrate the holiday
Princess Madeleine is back in his home country Sweden on holiday! On Monday, the 39-year-old royal along with her husband Christopher O’Neill and their three children, Princess Leonore, seven, Prince Nicolas, sex and Princess Adrienne, three, received the Royal Palace’s Christmas trees 2021.
The mother of three looked festive before receiving the trees wearing a black polo shirt, red checkered midi skirt and high-heeled boots. Nicolas coordinated with his mother in a red sweater, while his sisters turned in green velvet dresses along with white long-sleeved tops and matching white tights.
Madeleine’s children were each given a spruce by the forester students on 20 December. Since the 1960s, students from the forester’s program at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) have donated Christmas trees to the Royal Palace.
Princess’ brother Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia got the trees 2020. Unfortunately, Madeleine, who moved to Florida in 2018, did not celebrate the holiday with her family in Sweden last year due to the pandemic. This is what Margareta Thorgren, the Royal Court’s information director, said Swedish Women’s Magazine at that time, “Princess Madeleine lives in Florida and there are stricter restrictions that apply. And the family follows them. Therefore, it is not possible for the princess to travel and they can not come home over Christmas.”
Madeleine expressed her sadness at having missed the holiday in an Instagram post in December last year. She wrote, “This year it makes me sad that I will not be able to go home but my heart is with the whole of Sweden!”
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvias daughter finally returned to Sweden earlier this year. In June, she marked her return with a photo where Leonore wrote: “Hooray for being home in beautiful Sweden !!! 🇸🇪❤️. ”
