🇸🇮 Slovenia: Katja Kos won EMA Freš second chance of the first round
Katja Kos is the winner of the first round of the second opportunity for EMA Freš, the Slovenian selection for Eurovision.
Katja Kos won the first round of this week’s EMA Freš opportunity and beat the competition from two other acts. The other two bands hoping to secure a spot on live broadcasts in January are:
- Anja Vodošek – Maniac
- Nika S. – Wait for me (Wait for me)
A total of fourteen performances will advance to the second stage of the EMA Fresh. In January, there will be two shows with seven songs in each show, one song will be selected by the public and one jury to qualify for the EMA 2022 finals. Four EMA Fresh finalists will join sixteen groups competing to represent Slovenia at Eurovision 2022.

Slovenia was one of three countries to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993. The country qualified through a specially organized Millstreet Qualifying Round, which took place in Slovenia, and seven countries competed for three places at the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest. The country has participated in 22 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest. The best result was achieved in 1995, when Darja Švajger reached 7th place with a total of 84 points, closely followed by Nuša Derenda, who took 7th place with 70 points in the 2001 competition.
