France and Portugal promote more than 200 cultural projects in 2022
The Crossing Season between France and Portugal will take Joana Vasconcelos to Gallic lands, detected at the Louvre, Tours and Marseille, as well as associations between French and Portuguese festivals, was announced yesterday.
The agenda for this cross season, which will take place between February and October 2022, began to be released today, with the opening session in Paris, on February 12, with pianist Maria João Pires and the Gulbenkian Foundation Orchestra, at the Paris Philharmonic, followed by another concert on February 13th dedicated to Portuguese-speaking voices.
On February 14, France and Portugal make “a declaration of love” for each other, according to a press release in French sent to newsrooms, with a Portuguese tour of the French capital between the Paris City Hall building and the Louvre Museum.
This season then extends to various latitudes in France, with Joana Vasconcelos having a “white card” in the Castle of Vincennes chapel, the exhibition “Golden Age of the Portuguese Renaissance”, in the Louvre, the exhibition “All I Want: Women from the 20th to the 21st century”, in Tours, and a retrospective of Maria Helena Vieira da Silva in Marseille.
This cultural exchange will have two high moments of reflection, with the Oceans Forum, an event organized between the Museum of National History of Paris and the Foundation of the Sea, bringing together French, Portuguese and European researchers, and also the Gender Equality Forum , which will take place in Angers.
In Lisbon, Portugal and France will celebrate together the 50th anniversary of the “New Portuguese Letters”.
Teatro de la Ville, directed by Portuguese-descendant Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota, who is also president of this season, will bring together several French-Portuguese shows.
At the Carreau du Temple, in Paris, there will be a gastronomic festival dedicated to Portugal and the Jeu de Paume, a reference museum of cinema and photography, presenting a “carte carte” to the filmmaker Pedro Costa.
In Marseille, the International Film Festival will be associated with the Portuguese production company O Som ea Fúria, while the Festival Internacional de Rochelle will be associated with the Festival Iminente.
In Clermond-Ferrand, the Europavox festival will celebrate its 2022 edition in Portugal, as will the We Love Green Festival. The World Music Festival, in Sines, will also be associated with the season.
Another association that stands out in the program is that of Lyon BD with Amadora BD, thus sealing a comic-book combination between the two countries.
The program will also include meetings and debates on themes such as climate, renewable energies, blue economy, transport, mobility, smart cities, cultural and creative industries and health.
The full program of this cultural event will be announced on January 18 at a press conference in Paris.
