Even small ski areas start with good snow conditions

Even the small ski areas near the city are now open and offer a lot of snow: Zinkenlifte near Hallein, Postalm between Strobl and Abtenau and the Gaissau-Hintersee ski area. The plan was to present the new snow-making concept there by the end of the year. The presentation has been postponed. The investment was made anyway.
Managing Director Bernhard Eibl will invest eight million euros in the new snow cannons. Governor Wilfried Haslauer (ÖVP) has promised 2.5 million euros in funding for this. For this, however, concrete plans are needed, it said from the country.
“Gaißauer will not be discouraged”
The team of cable car boss Eibl put the lifts in Gaissau into operation a few days ago – this year without artificial snow: “Everything has been postponed due to Corona. The most important thing is the good start of the winter season for this year. The other one will come from the beginning of the year. “
Investments are made on a small scale – despite everything, says Eibl: “For the three-seater chairlift, we got new electronics for 50,000 euros. It was approved by the authorities on Friday. ”The population in Krispl-Gaissau and Hintersee will not be discouraged and continue to look forward to a good future for the ski area, said Eibl.
City of Hallein invests in snow cannons
Investments have also been made on the other side of the Tennengau Salzach Valley. The city of Hallein has taken about half a million euros into its own hands, says Andreas Klimitsch, managing director of the Zinkenlifte: “The city of Hallein is investing in snowmaking, the new drive motor and the new privacy screen. We’re very happy about that. “
In addition, there is a fee-based shuttle service for Nuns on the Halleiner Dürrnberg in case the parking spaces directly at the lift become scarce again.
