A 35-year-old was sentenced on Friday at the Salzburg Regional Court to six months of conditional imprisonment for attempted serious fraud with cats. The Russian, who lives in Pinzgau, bought two cats from a breeder in Belarus in May 2019.
After the animals arrived, the buyer claimed, according to the criminal complaint, that the animals were sick and last died. The good news: The velvet paws are alive and well. The accused sent the breeder fake veterinary bills, laboratory results and a fake invoice for the cremation of a cat, according to the allegation. You tried to induce the seller to pay compensation.
