Opera star Jonas Kaufmann at the Vaduz Classic 2022
Under the motto “From Austria with Love”, “Vaduz Classic” is celebrating its five-year anniversary with three world stars, a refreshing crossover concert and a world premiere from August 25 to 28, 2022.
To get a foretaste of the festival, an overview of the program is shown here.
Opening concert with opera star Jonas Kaufmann
Jonas Kaufmann, who is currently the most important opera singer of the “Vaduz Classic” Festival 2022, will open on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 8.30 p.m. in the Marktplatz car park. Since his debts at the Metropolitan Opera New York in 2006, Jonas Kaufmann has been leading to the top stars of classical music. Awarded several times with the Opus Klassik, for many it is “the new king of the tenre”. Jonas Kaufmann is accompanied by the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra.
Gala concert with Juan Diego Flrez & band
In the intimate setting of the Vaduzer Saal, on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 6 p.m., Diego Flrez, another world star, will have the honor of having a meal at the traditional “Vaduz Classic” gala concert.
The sound of his Peruvian homeland is a kind of elixir of life for tenor Juan Diego Flrez. Accompanied by his sensitive twelve-person ensemble, the tenor walks in the musical footsteps of his ancestors with the “Bad Mucho” program and looks across the borders to his Latin American neighbors.
Young international stars – open air
Young international stars from Austria and Liechtenstein such as Kian Soltani (violoncello), Vivi Vassileva (percussion), Aleksandra uklar (percussion) and Maximilian Nscher (percussion) will literally shake hands on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 8:30 p.m. on the large open air stage together with the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra under Frank Dupree. Together they provide a modern crossover potpourri, a concert experience with many surprises, characterized by the joy of playing and the casual desire for new things, powerfully staged by a spectacular light show.
World premiere: Mozart cantata for Prince Alois I.
The top-class “Vaduz Classic” finale will be on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 11 a.m., with the world premiere of a previously never performed work on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the Vaduz Hall: the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra will play with a choir from Austria and two soloists under the direction of Heinz Prammer the “Cantata for Prince Alois I of Liechtenstein”, KV Anh. 242.
