Galamba goes down a place in Lisbon, Gomes Cravinho is number two in Setúbal
Defense Minister João Gomes Cravinho is running for deputy in second place for the Setúbal constituency, while Secretary of State João Galamba drops one place, to 11th, in the list for the Lisbon constituency.
The lists of candidates for deputies for the next legislative sessions will be definitively approved at this evening’s meeting of the PS Political Commission, which did not start at 9 pm, as planned, because the late afternoon meeting of the National Secretariat, the governing body , extended into the night.
One of the main new features is the inclusion of João Gomes Cravinho in second place on the Setúbal list, which is headed by the socialist parliamentary leader, Ana Catarina Mendes, and in which the former Minister of Internal Administration Eduardo Cabrita no longer participates.
In Lisbon, João Galamba, whose tenth position had been contested on Friday night, during a meeting of the Political Commission of FAUL, will enter the 11th position, changing places with former Secretary of State Marcos Perestrello.
The first nine names on this list for Lisbon, which is headed by António Costa and which has former mayor Fernando Medina in fifth place, remain in relation to the order scheduled on Friday.
In Leiria, on the list headed by doctor and secretary of state António Lacerda Vendas, third place goes to Secretary of State for Internationalization, Eurico Brilhante Dias, who had been a candidate for Castelo Branco in previous elections.
In second place in Leiria is the former judge of the Constitutional Court and former secretary of state Catarina Sarmento Castro.
As anticipated, the former parliamentary leader of the PS Francisco Assis is not on the lists of candidates for deputies, as is the leader of the minority tendency, Daniel Adrião.
Socialist Women’s Leader may be off the lists
The president of the National Department of Socialist Women, Elza Pais, is not on the lists of candidates for deputies for the next legislative changes that will be voted on by the Political Commission of the PS tonight.

In addition to Elza Pais, the lists of candidates for deputy do not include, among other names, the former secretary of state José Magalhães, the constitutionalist Pedro Bacelar de Vasconcelos and the deputy Carla Miranda, who was vice-chairman of the Commission on Education and in this legislature.
