Fill the Christmas tree yourself to Munich here it goes
Munich – The Advent season is often more hectic than contemplative: One Christmas party chases the next, work goes on, gifts have to be obtained, Christmas mail written, cookies baked and a thousand other things organized and prepared. But since many things are canceled again today due to the Corona, there is more time for many. Assuming you don’t have a Christmas tree yet, how about knocking, felling, sawing, and cutting yourself down?
“People are so grateful for every experience”
The demand is definitely high this year. “People are so grateful for every experience. So much is forbidden,” says Michaela Sedlmair from the Blindham Mountain Animal Park.
You don’t have to have a guilty conscience that you are only chopping down a tree for the festival and a few days afterwards, says Claus Meier, the boss of the Christbaumstadl in Indersdorf. Even if a room-high conifer has grown for eight to twelve years. “The cultures are specially designed for this,” says the Christmas tree grower. “Otherwise corn would be grown there, for example.”
Filling the Christmas tree yourself: Make sure to wear warm and rainproof clothes
A conifer produced a lot of good oxygen as it grew. And: “For every tree that pleases, a new one is planted,” he assures us.
Michaela Sedlmair: “Be sure to dress warm and rainproof, otherwise you will be completely soaked when you’ve crawled under two trees.”
What if the tree is then made home? It is best to put it in water and keep it out in the wind protected from the wind until its big appearance. Sedlmair: “And please don’t put it next to the heater or the tiled stove. It’ll stay nice and fresh.”
