The campaign is intended to motivate the findings to report suspects to the state police at any time: Low-threshold and, above all, immediate information can be of inestimable value for the investigation and suitable for preventing any criminal offenses or even establishing a perpetrator.
The state police also advise:
- Close windows and doors when leaving the building.
- Leave the lights on in the evening while you are away. It is not immediately obvious that the house is ‘orphaned’. The use of light time switches in and around the house can offer additional protection, as they unsettle possible perpetrators.
- Do not leave a key (doormat).
- Keep little cash and jewelry at home. However, if it is unavoidable, use a safe for safe keeping rather than the bedside table drawer, wardrobe or bathroom.
