Culture, hobby sports awaken from deep sleep

The nationwide lockdown for vaccinated and convalescents ends on Sunday. Some important areas of society are now coming back to life. This also includes culture and popular sports. The rules should remain the same as before the lockdown. Concrete requirements and a regulation by the federal government are still a long time coming.
There are joys for example with acrobats at the Salzburg Winter Festival. The circus festival can still start on time. First in the scene in Salzburg in the former city cinema – and after a few days then as usual in the Volksgarten, as Julia Eder enthuses: “We are very happy, but we have to adapt quickly again in the short term. The performances in the Volksgarten will begin on December 21st. “
Finally Christmas plays in the Landestheater!
In the cultural scene, one has had a lot of practice with spontaneous reactions since the beginning of the CoV crisis. It is exhausting, but now one is used to it.
Preparations for the opening are also in progress in the Salzburg State Theater, explains Artistic Director Carl Philip von Maldeghem: “We have the children’s play Heidi. And the piece of beautiful presents, both of which are related to Christmas. We couldn’t play them last year. So now is a great opportunity. “
Even amateur athletes happier again
The Eisarena Salzburg expects up to 2,000 fans again for ice hockey games in the future. Also in Flachau and Bischofshofen (both Pongau) the organizers of the ÖSV are planning with spectators again – while no spectators are allowed in the Four Hills Tournament in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
From Sunday onwards, all amateur athletes will be able to train again, as director Sabrina Rohrmoser from the Rif University and State Sports Center describes: “Sport naturally helps physical health – and the sports industry when courses are held again.”
A mask must be worn until the start of the sport. The specific regulation is still missing for sport – as well as culture, it is said.
