Stadium project in Salzburg: plans for the exhibition grounds
The first project at the Salzburg exhibition grounds received – as reported – immediately after the announcement of a clear rejection at the beginning of November.
The Bavarian entrepreneur will be giving a press conference on Monday in the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce to provide information about the latest developments in the cause.
Stadium project at the exhibition center “sunk immediately”
“The project has already been sunk again. The offer is like a Preuner farm catcher.
The plan is: Construction entrepreneur Max Aicher will receive a 19,000 square meter area at the exhibition center from the City of Salzburg, where he will build a stadium including apartments. After completion, the main sponsor of Salzburger Austria will donate the arena to the city of Mozart. The project should be refinanced with the real estate.
Austria sponsor is sticking to the idea at the exhibition grounds
“For me it wasn’t a final rejection. I want to support the sport. My greatest motivation is the versatile use of the arena,” explains the Bavarian.
In addition to football and soccer games, cultural events are also to take place.
The key data for the new arena:
- The total cost is 193 million euros
- Stadium for 5,000 spectators
- 428 2,3 or 4-room apartments
- Almost 48 meters high – slightly below the “Cool Mama” hotel
- TV broadcasts should be possible
- On an area of 19,000 square meters
- Two-story underground car park with 1,200 spaces
- Almost 200 social apartments are to be built – the rest will become property.
- As in Freilassing, one square meter should be around six euros
Aicher Plan B is Freilassing
Should the project not be implemented, Aicher has a plan B. “The alternative is an area in Freilassing. But our main goal is a home stadium in Salzburg,” emphasizes the entrepreneur.
The arena will cost around 193 million euros. The Aicher Group would take over the financing entirely on its own and give it to the city. “We would also take care of the disposal of the contaminated sites of the old landfill on which the property is located,” said Aicher.
