Difficult fire operations at night

A “snack hut” or snack bar burned down on Saturday night near Salzburg Airport. Nobody got hurt. In an apartment fire in the city of Salzburg, on the other hand, a 47-year-old man suffered burns on his hands and feet.
In the apartment fire, a resident wanted to put out the fire himself. A little later, the injured had to be taken to the state hospital by the Red Cross. According to the police, a table lamp caught fire at 11:30 p.m. for unknown reasons and ignited a mattress. The residents were able to put out the fire in the storage room themselves.
No injuries in a hut fire
During the night there was also a fire in a “snack hut” or snack bar in Wals (Flachgau). The fire brigade was alerted at 3:00 a.m. Three fire engines from the volunteer fire brigade moved out. The fire fighting work was also supported by the Salzburg professional fire brigade. Nobody got hurt.
Further investigation
Why the hut near the airport went up in flames remains to be determined. The police and the public prosecutor’s office have sent experts to the scene of the fire.
