Exchange of blows with Pascal Pfister – “I don’t know when you were last looking for an apartment”
“I don’t know when you last looked for an apartment”
The SP Grand Councilor Pascal Pfister fought in Basel-Stadt for the Housing Protection Initiative II. Will he sweep the negative consequences of the bill under the table? We have investigated.

Mr. Pfister, do you actually hate investors?
No, I’m unfeeling there. I stand up for tenants. That is my motivation.
Am Bajour podium you said that you no longer want to see certain investors in Basel.
That is not right. The other side claims that the investors are withdrawing due to the initiative and eliminating the need for renovations. The aim of our initiative is that renovations that are unnecessary are no longer carried out.
Which renovations are unnecessary?
For example those who change the price range or the floor plan. Landlords make the kitchens bigger or the rooms more open. They do this to add value to the home and generate higher returns. However, we want the character of the apartments to be preserved.
