Upper Austria and Salzburg are also cracking down on Corona
The number of corona infections is also increasing in Austria. The occupancy of intensive care beds in hospitals by corona infected people has exceeded the 15 percent mark.
The Austrian federal government’s Corona step-by-step plan stipulates that stronger corona regulations will come into force from November 8th. Like in Lower Bavaria it is then: Access to night gastronomy and events with more than 500 visitors will only be granted to those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered. Self-antigen tests, which have previously been considered access tests for hairdressers or visits to restaurants, are no longer enough, only tests by pharmacies and test stations. In some federal states, even stronger measures that they have prescribed themselves apply in some cases.
Upper Austria, for example, reintroduced the FFP2 mask requirement in all retailers at the end of October, which applies nationwide only to shops for non-daily needs. This FFP2 mask requirement also applies to visitors to museums and libraries regardless of their 3G status. This is not necessary for body-hugging service providers such as hairdressers – the 3G rule applies here, also in theaters and cinemas. In Upper Austria, however, there are now exit controls at the borders of eleven districts.
