In the traditional shop in Salzburg’s old town, you can get blanks like a dress made of fabric in the old days. On the occasion of “Hand.Kopf.Werk”, the boss argues from the sewing box.
Buttons on mass-sewn ready-made clothing often turn out to be blenders. They pretend to be made of metal, leather or horn, but play this role in plastic with no credibility. “Our buttons don’t pretend,” says Veronika Stockinger, placing a quarter gulden button on the sales counter to support it.
