“Solved the case of plates on the industry and business front”
With great satisfaction we welcome the positive vote of the Italian Senate with which a text is finally approved that takes into account the peculiarities of the Republic of San Marino and the needs of the operators. Intervention for some time requested by the economic categories considering the problems created for the Republic and in particular for companies and workers. The modification of article 93 of the Italian highway code, which previously provided for an inapplicable de facto right and which continued to create major problems for San Marino companies and for the cross-border workers employed in them, now guarantees specific and definitive protection. for those who, in carrying out a work activity, are driving vehicles with a San Marino license plate. With the approval of the amendment, in fact, the circulation in Italy of vehicles with foreign plates even if driven by residents in the Italian territory for more than 60 days, subject to the presence on board of the owner. Drivers residing in Italy for over 60 days will also be able to drive vehicles registered in San Marino if connected to companies based on the Titan through an employment relationship or continuous collaboration. The adoption of the decree will take place after the imminent return of the text to the Chamber of Deputies and its subsequent publication in the Official Gazette. Despite being criticized, if not even opposed, today we can say that the long conversation that the Party had with Senator Matteo Salvini during the meeting held in the Republic no later than two months ago turned out to be absolutely propitious and decisive. On that occasion, the issue had in fact been concretely examined and understood by the Senator who had promised to take the affair to heart as he has shown today that he has done. We therefore take the opportunity to thank the whole Italian counterpart for the important result obtained in relation to a problem that has remained unsolved for years and in particular Senator Matteo Salvini, Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti and the political force they represented, with whom on the one hand the Party, on the other the Industry Secretariat, held a close confrontation in order to highlight the delicacy of the situation and the negative impact it provoking on our country. What has been achieved can objectively be considered an excellent step forward compared to the past, overcoming an unfortunate event that exploded in 2018 and which today can finally be considered partially concluded so continue to work alongside the competent Foreign Secretariat, which we thank for their efforts. , so that the issue is definitively resolved also on the residences front. Having overcome this problem, the government is now called to continue on this path, speeding up decisively on reforms
