Salzburg AG builds Salzburg’s first indoor campus in the »Leadersnet
“All exhibitors can access super-fast Internet and present their IoT applications soon”
By auctioning the 5G license at the beginning of 2019, Salzburg AG can supply the entire state or its cooperation partners with a single 5G network. The Green Tech Company is implementing the first 5G indoor campus in all of Salzburg together with the Salzburg Exhibition Center. The service should be available for exhibitors in November.
With the 5G Indoor Campus in Halls 1 and 10, the two largest rooms on the site, the fastest possible data connection will be “state of the art” in the future. “With the purchase of a 5G license for all of Salzburg at the beginning of 2019, we not only made an investment in the future of the company, but also contributed to strengthening the business location. As a Green Tech Company, we can build 5G campuses throughout the federal state, and so do our customers with a corresponding, confidential network, “says Leonhard Schitter, General Director of Salzburg AG and adds,” In contrast to other telecommunications providers, we use our radio frequency for fixed wireless access, i.e. stationary Internet for home or for local campus networks Connection given in the free user group. “
Clear competitive advantage
Alexander Kribus from the Salzburg Exhibition Center is also delighted about the cooperation with Salzburg AG: “The cooperation with Salzburg AG and the associated establishment of the first 5G Indoor Campus gives us a clear competitive advantage as an exhibition center,” says Alexander Kribus, Managing Director of the Salzburg Exhibition Center . “All exhibitors will be able to access super-fast Internet from October and will soon be able to present their IoT applications,” continues Kribus. For this purpose, the exhibition center receives 5G service stations and internet-enabled SIM cards from Salzburg AG, which are made available to the exhibitors. “This enables a presentation of the current status quo of the technology. Together with Salzburg AG, we will evaluate the technology. The aim is to implement a complete supply on the site next year,” says Kribus. (jw)
