With the suspension of the salary mechanism, the city government initially wanted to save around six million francs on the approximately 4,000 employees next year. For example, wage increases based on years of service, the progressive 13th month wage and seniority allowances should be suspended. The city of Geneva originally expects a deficit of 40.8 million francs in the 2022 draft budget.
