Sweden provides injury update on Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof
Sweden has confirmed that Victor Lindelof only suffered a “minor injury” at Manchester United’s training.
Lindelof made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting lineup for United’s 3-0 win over Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday, but he was a remarkable omission from the Reds’ traveling squad for Tuesday’s match against Atalanta.
“We look good, the training session this morning a few small tingles but I do not think it will be any bigger,” Solskjaer said at his press conference before the match and Lindelof’s omission from the squad indicated that he was one of these players.
Sweden manager Janne Andersson has now confirmed this before he also revealed that Lindelof only got a “minor” knock.
“I spoke to Victor yesterday. He was not worried. It is a minor injury,” Andersson said The football channel.
“There we are and then you never know. But he was not worried in that way so that conversation felt good.”
Lindelof started with Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane in a back three against Tottenham this weekend, so in his absence it seems as if Solskjaer could move Luke Shaw to one of these roles instead with Alex Telles as left back.
Lindelof is Sweden’s captain and more World Cup qualifiers await later this month.
