The new images show clusters of armored demonstrations of units, tanks and self-propelled artillery with ground forces near the Russian city of Yelnya near the border with Belarus, the newspaper writes. The deputy units, which started at the end from other parts of Russia, this September they are based, include the 1st Guards Panzer Army.
According to Politico, in the area near Bryansk and Kursk, near the northern border of Ukraine, the equipment of the 4th Panzer Division of Russia was moved. The units are equipped with the main battle tanks T-80U and self-propelled artillery.
Previously, several sources, including a reputable American publication The Washington Post, wrote that in recent weeks Russia has resumed the movement of equipment and military to the border with Ukraine. The newspaper, citing uninvited interlocutors among US and European officials, said it happened after the Kremlin completed a large-scale joint military exercise with Belarus “West 2021” a month and a half ago.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as of the 1st additional transfer of Russian units, weapons and military equipment to the state border with Ukraine have not been recorded, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported.
“It is most probable that the facts published in the media and on the Internet about the build-up of Russian armed groups in the Ukrainian region are part of special information and psychological actions, and are essentially planned measures to relocate troops after training. Ukraine’s military intelligence is a constant observation of the actions of the aggressor state’s troops and changes in their number near the state border of Ukraine, “the reports show.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov previously stated that after completing the West 2021 exercise, Russia left military equipment, as well as a control and communication center at training grounds along the Ukrainian border.
The large-scale concentration of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine was reported in early April this year. Ukraine and the West then expressed deep concern over such maneuvers, to which the Kremlin said it did not threaten anyone.
