The United States held consultations on the accumulation of Russian troops on Ukraine’s border
The US Presidential Administration has held consultations on the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border, included at a briefing on November 1, US President’s National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
“Over the past weekend, we have had the opportunity to consult with key allies and partners on Ukraine and to ensure that we protect and uphold Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. We continue to monitor the situation closely. And I have nothing more to add at the moment, “Sullivan said when asked about” the level of concern about Russia’s new military concentration on Ukraine’s border. “
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as of November 1, no additional transfer of Russian units, weapons and military equipment to the state border with Ukraine has been recorded, goes in the official statement of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Previously, several sources, including a reputable American publication The Washington Post, wrote that in recent weeks Russia has resumed the movement of equipment and military to the border with Ukraine. The newspaper, citing uninvited interlocutors among US and European officials, said it happened after the Kremlin completed a large-scale joint military exercise with Belarus “West 2021” a month and a half ago.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov previously stated that after completing the West 2021 exercise, Russia left military equipment, as well as a control and communication center at training grounds along the Ukrainian border.
The large-scale concentration of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine was reported in early April this year. Ukraine and the West then expressed deep concern over such maneuvers, to which the Kremlin said it did not threaten anyone.
