The 4th Athens & Adolescent International Film Festival throughout the city
From November 13 to 21, the Athens International Children’s Film Festival (ATHICFF) presents a rich screening program for children, teenagers and parents, because, according to its organizers “Children’s films, in addition to cartoons, cute animals and superheroes, are also films full of energy, creativity, humor and imagination.”
This year’s event is a co-production of ATHICFF and the Athens Concert Hall.

Through 125 small and large films, animation and live action, with subtitles and dubbed, viewers discover films that speak the language of children, touch on issues of their age and travel around the world. Part of this year’s program is accessible to people in this range, with mental retardation or hearing problems in collaboration with TheHappyAct and Hands Up.
The Athens Concert Hall and Danaos cinema remain constant friends of the Festival, while the Piraeus Municipal Theater and the cinema Cinemax Kifissia 1 & 2, in order to make access easier for children and parents throughout Attica.
Apart from selections from films of the world children and adolescent cinema, the Tribute Environment holds a special place.

For ages 2 to 12, 83 films that speak with humor and sensitivity about friendship, nature, freedom, family, diversity. Movies about family ties, such as “Our Ape Star”, a wonderful cartoon story about motherhood and unconditional love, with Sotiri Kontiza lending his voice to Eugenia Deliali, Emmanuel Konto, Chryssa Michalopoulou, Athena Moustaka, Lida Platsi and Alexandros Siatras. Also, Greek films, such as “Lost” by Vivian Papageorgiou, “Strongly in the clouds” by Eleni Lazaridi, “Alone in the elevator” by Anastasia Papadopoulou and “Rookie” by Alexandros Tsilifonis, a story inspired by a very familiar . , world basketball hero.
For 13 to 18 year olds, 40 movies that talk about adolescence, the path to adulthood, when you discover yourself through the agony of finding your identity, accepting your body, coping with the pressure of friends and parents, or even save the world. In “Jawline”, a 16-year-old internet star dreams of glory and a better life to escape from the small American town where he lives (the film is screened as part of the American Film Showcase). In the film “Girlhood” by Vania Turner and Maria Sidiropoulou, three 17-year-old girls dream of their independence and try to learn to love themselves, in the expansion of adulthood and quarantine isolation. In “70/30” we watch a group of young activists in Denmark who, in view of the negotiation of an ambitious bill for the environment, try to learn the rules of the game of politics, while in “A crazy road trip” (“Stop & Go” ) two states that are in quarantine in the first days of the pandemic, have to travel by car 20 hours crossing 3 states in order to save their beloved grandmother from the nursing home that hosts her and has a vertical increase in cases. Information for the public to enter the venues of the Festival
The entry of persons 12 years and older is done with the obligatory presentation of a vaccination certificate or control certificate issued 30 days after the first positive test, and its validity lasts up to 180 after that.
