Mauro Maiani, Commissioner of San Marino at the Expo, was found dead
Mauro Maiani, General Commissioner of San Marino at Expo 2020, was found lifeless in the hotel in Dubai where he was staying.
The man, who was Ambassador of San Marino to the United Arab Emirates and Portugal, was 64 years old. From the first information it seems that at the origin of the death there is an illness.
The news of the mourning shook the whole Republic, where Maiani was known for his public activity as an official for the Secretariat for Foreign Affairs and for having led the latest editions of Expo for San Marino.
From the microphones of San Marino Rtv, the Secretary of State for Tourism Federico Pedini Amati, he declared all his condolences to the family: “A human and enormous loss for the country. An irreplaceable friend goes away from many points of view. Mauro was not only a very skilled man of the institutions but a true San Marino and a friend of all the people he met over the years. He brought prestige to the Titan through his work in the world ”.
Tomorrow the San Marino Pavilion at the Expo will be closed as a sign of mourning.
