76-year-old nominated as the United States’ next ambassador to Norway
Marc Nathanson (76) has been nominated by President Joe Biden as the United States’ new ambassador to Norway.
This is stated by the White House in a press release on Friday night.
Nathanson has been a successful businessman in the United States for many years.
The 76-year-old is best known for founding Falcon Cable TV. A cable company he sold in 1999 for around 3.7 billion dollars.
Today he is chairman of the board of the investment company Mapleton Investments. He is known as an avid environmentalist. In 2008, he was on the Forbes list of US billionaires, but later dropped out of listening. According to the Los Angeles Business Journal, he should today be good for around $ 2 billion.
The previous ambassador was Kenneth Braithwaite. He was brought home to the United States in May 2020. Braithwaite was then to take over as Minister of the Navy.
Held fundraising for Biden’s campaign
In August 2019, Nathanson held a fundraiser for Biden’s presidential campaign at his home in Aspen, Colorado, wrote Aspen Times previous years.
It was only a few months after Biden announced in April 2019 that he would run for president.
Figures Aftenposten has taken from the US Electoral Commission show that he gives big summers to democratic candidates and heart issues. Last fall, he donated $ 100,000 to Biden’s Victory Fund.
Also supported Clinton
When Hillary Clinton ran for president in 2016, Nathanson was also a supporter of the Democratic presidential candidate.
Among other things, Nathanson also held a fundraising campaign for the Democratic candidate’s campaign.
The Washington-based newspaper The Hill interview in 2015 Nathanson in connection with his support for Clinton.
Nathanson then said he was a “big fan” of Joe Biden, but that he supported Clinton even though Biden was running for the Democrats.
“I think the Democratic Party needs to rally behind Hillary,” Nathanson said.
