“Nazi” poster hoisted on Mozartsteg in Salzburg
Unknown people hung a 15-meter-long Nazi poster on Mozartsteg in the middle of the city of Salzburg on the national holiday. The content of the label contained National Socialist ideas, informed the State Police Directorate. However, the banner was placed upside down. The police conclude that the perpetrators were injured. The City Hall Police Inspectorate asks witnesses for information on 059 133 5588 100.
Passers-by discovered the poster and informed the police. The time of the crime was limited to 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The poster said “do you want the total scam ????”, where the letter “s” had been replaced by two “Siegrunen”. By early Tuesday afternoon there was still no trace of the perpetrators and no evidence, such as a police spokeswoman at short notice on APA request.
On Sunday, the state of Salzburg called on the population to “fly the flag” on the occasion of the national holiday on October 26th and on the anniversary of the terrorist attack in Vienna on November 2nd. The national holiday is a day of joy, on which the end of the occupation after the Second World War is celebrated, it said in a broadcast. On the other hand, on November 2nd, the victims of last year’s terrorist attack in Vienna will be remembered in deep mourning and the black flag will therefore be hoisted on state buildings.
On Tuesday morning the “Concentration Camp Association / Association of Antifascists” held a rally in memory of the victims of National Socialism at the Salzburg municipal cemetery.
