Gordon Ramsey was in Athens for his new show where he presents the gastronomic secrets of our country and did not hesitate to try a Greek salad cocktail, of course souvlaki, he ran to the Panathinaiko Stadium.
The famous British chef, accompanied by his Italian colleague Gino d’Acampo and the French restaurant owner Fred Sierre, visited Crete, where he got excited with the rooster with noodles, Santorini, where Mrs. Katina found Me.
Then, the company of the three occupied Athens, the homeland of democracy, as he characteristically says in one of the videos. After entering Monastiraki, the Acropolis, the Panathinaiko Stadium, they finally ended up in a souvlaki restaurant with the Italian chef calling the souvlaki, kebab, something that acquired their Greek colleague.
Let’s take the things from the beginning. The chef who participates in the documentary “Gordon, Gino & Fred Go Greek” explores the gastronomic delights of Greece together with his friends, chef Gino D’Acampo and metro company Fred Sirieix.
Gordon Ramsey is excited about Athens
So the trip to Athens begins with a walk in Monastiraki, where a group of young dancers fooling around dancing, with D’Acambos and Sirié, getting so excited that they want to try too. Then, they fool around openly in the shape of a phallus and joke when the Italian chef tells them that his mother-in-law always asks a rolling pin for this on his travels.
Entering the old van they travel in, Gordon Ramsey is initially a little frightened by how the people of Athens drive, “oh my God, what is he doing”, he is heard saying, but then he says that he is excited about the ancient history of the city and her incredible knowledge. At one point, and after a reversal under Ramsay’s guidance, they stop with a perfume for a quick souvlaki at the well-known souvlaki restaurant of Kostas, in the center of Athens, with the cars honking them because they have blocked the road. “I have nowhere to park,” Gordon Ramsay is heard shouting at the other drivers, who are mercilessly honking at him. “It’s very tasty,” Ramsey is heard saying, with his co-presenters protesting the way he is driving. “I can not eat like that, it’s like being on a horse.”
The walk to the Panathinaiko Stadium follows, where all three look enchanted by the beauty and grandeur of the stadium. The tour has been undertaken by Maria Polyzou, the Olympian who a few days ago reported her father for rape since the age of 11.
The three famous friends can not resist and decide to run, with the hilarious Gino d’Acampo, who wears short pink shorts saying that it does not matter the victory but to arrive in style.
The disagreement about souvlaki vs kebab
But for food, with the group of three deciding to taste souvlaki again in a souvlaki restaurant in Agia Irini square. D’Acampo, however, makes the mistake of calling the souvlaki “kebab”, provoking a strong reaction from his Greek colleague, who in turn calls him a “pizza boy”. The result was that they came up with a competition for who would make the best skewer.
On one side is Gordon Ramsey with D’Acambos and on the other the two chefs of the souvlaki restaurant, with the former using for their own dish, pork belly, fennel, crispy pork skin, yogurt and lemon zest.
Then, “The Clumsies” were presented, one of the most famous bars in Athens, with fairy tales in New York, London, while it has been characterized, as Gordon Ramsay points out, as the third best in the world. But what are they trying here in Athens? Greek salad cocktail!
