On Valentine’s Day, the two assailants brutally attacked the men, escaping with a fine

“The man refused, saying that this was not the case. One of the attackers then pulled his hood over his head and pushed him onto the counter, preventing him from moving. In the end, he smashed a light bulb off his head, which he took from the table, “said Jan Daněk, a spokesman for the Prague police, about the incident from last year on February 14.

The other of the aggressive men kicked the young man from behind and punched him hard in the face. The perpetrators left the store immediately afterwards.

Just a riot

The whole brutal attack was recorded by a security store, and the police subsequently released a video of them and began searching for the perpetrators. When they saw the footage in the media, the attackers preferred to report to the police station themselves.

Initially, criminal investigators suspected them of robbery, because the injured party reported that two thousand crowns in his back pocket had disappeared during the attack. However, footage from the cameras does not show that the attackers took his money. However, they also caused other damage to the young man.

“His mobile phone was also damaged and he lost one contact lens due to a blow to the face,” Daněk specified, stating that the total damage calculated for the victim was four thousand crowns.

However, investigators eventually evaluated the case as a riot, and the public prosecutor filed a charge against both men with the District Court for Prague 4.

Every 10 thousand

“A criminal order was issued by the court on August 30 this year, which, among other things, imposed a fine of ten thousand crowns on each of the defendants,” Aleš Cimbala, spokesman for the Prague Public Prosecutor’s Office, told Práva yesterday.

One of the attackers agreed with this punishment, but the other filed a so-called resistance against him and the court in his case had to order the main trial. But there, everything turned out practically the same last week.

“At the main trial, which took place in court on October 20, he concluded an agreement on guilt and punishment with the public prosecutor. As a punishment, a fine in the same amount, ie ten thousand crowns, was again agreed. The court approved this agreement on guilt and punishment, “Cimbala specified.

He added that both perpetrators had already tried to compensate the young man for the damage they had done during the criminal proceedings.

However, even through the police and other authorities, they did not manage to contact the victim, so they initially placed the police, valued at more than a thousand crowns, in court custody, where the attacked man can apply for it.
