In a letter addressed to the organizers and dated October 21, 2021, the city councilor in charge of the event indicates that no authorization for outdoor concerts will be issued in the pink city.

Toulouse must remain an attractive city due to its dynamism, its culture and the many events it offers. These activities must be compatible with peaceful neighborhood life and a living environment that respects everyone.”Conditions that do not seem to be met for Jonnhy Dunal. In charge of the events, he informed the organizers “that the decision has been taken to no longer issue any authorization for outdoor concerts as of Monday, October 18, 2021 in the town of Toulouse”.

Nuisances and overflows observed

This decision follows complaints from residents and overflows detected by the deputy’s team during outdoor concerts. Although the organizers have been warned, the nuisance continues. These events can sometimes accommodate up to 1,000 people with parking and accessibility issues.

Initially, the port of l’Embouchure, the Great Plain and Pech-David had been identified by the municipality as places likely to receive this kind of events which take place mainly in spring and summer. Strict measures had to be observed: sound limitation to 90 decibels, cleaning of the premises and end of concerts at 11 p.m. on weekdays, and midnight on Saturdays.

Contacted, the town hall indicates that this suspension is “momentary” and “discussions are with the organizers of these events to identify sites likely to host this type of event, while preserving, as much as possible, the tranquility of the inhabitants“.
