Saint-Etienne-de-Tulmont. A flowery school is pretty!

This is a first in Saint-Étienne-de-Tulmont, the public elementary school has subscribed to the “flowery schools” operation, an educational project to learn about gardening, flowering and citizenship, organized with the support of the Ministry of Education. At the local level, the operation was orchestrated by Jean Ramond, departmental delegate for National Education. The school yard having been renovated last summer, it needed to be beautified and given some color. Half a dozen wooden boxes were offered by the fruit farm of Jean-Philippe Magnani, in Albias, transported by Eric Raujol and Pierre Pisani and finally filled with soil by the agents of the municipal workshops. The educational part of the operation could begin. Véronique Puech, village florist, gave her help and valuable advice to the young gardeners and their teachers on the choice and needs of plants. They take care of its maintenance and can observe the evolution of nature over the seasons. “Embellish and learn” reminded Camille Lopitaux, president of the Union of DDEN during her visit, accompanied by the mayor Éric Massip, Cédric Vaissières, departmental councilor, and the director of the school David Hermet. Beyond a competition, it is a direct encouragement to heads of establishments and municipalities to improve the living environment of children in an educational context of learning. Jean Ramond thanked all those who made this project a success.
