takes up the challenge of CAF d’Annecy

After the first edition of “Que la montagne est belle!” which had been seriously disrupted by bad weather, the weather forecasts are, at the time of writing, more optimistic for this second edition which will take place this Sunday, July 3 in front of the Grands Chalets cross-country ski center, on the Annecy side.

Several activities will be offered from 11 a.m., but as a preamble, the public is invited to get involved in a soft mobility challenge with the delicate task of choosing a soft mode of transport: on foot, by bike, by bus, to replace the car to go up to Semnoz.

At the end of the day, a count of “soft kilometers” traveled and cars left in the garage, will be carried out by the organizers. The French Alpine Club (CAF) of Annecy, whose team will be led by Martine Piétu, mountain knowledge and protection manager (CPM) and coordinator of the operation, hopes to register a good will from the public to increase the figures.

Activities around the alpine garden

With this operation, which has been taking place since 2005 in various massifs in the region, the French Federation of Alpine and Mountain Clubs (FFCAM) wishes to affirm and make known its commitments in favor of sports practices that respect our natural and human heritage.

The Annecy CAF embarked on this synergy last year with the aim of promoting another vision of nature: “Because the mountain without a car is possible! It is by walking, running or cycling that we will all go together and as a family to the summit of Semnoz. It’s a unique opportunity to become aware of the challenge of soft mobility to preserve the wild and fragile space that our mountains constitute” explains Martine Piétu before presenting the activities and the conference to be held near the alpine garden. .

Several nomadic workshops will operate throughout the day with mindful walking to learn how to be part of a lasting relationship with nature, conferences for more information, the discovery of the emotions of the earth, understanding the place of the man in the time of the earth and the landscapes. The game “The fresco of the climate” proposed by France nature environment will allow to better understand nature and the impacts of man on the climate.
