According to a local merchant, “There would have been an anonymous call to MacDonald’s as well as to the bakery, explaining that a person would come during the day to shoot everyone”.
A security perimeter was established by the police. The RAID is on site, accompanied by a canine team. Two police unions have confirmed these threats to us, explaining that the services of 17 had received a confused call that was necessary to take so seriously.
We reached the McDonald’s by phone, it was the police who answered us but did not wish to give details on the operation in progress.
A neighborhood trader tells us about his morning:
“Two police cars with two motorcyclists arrived around 9:30 a.m. They were discussed with the staff of McDonald’s and the bakery on avenue Jean Chaubet”.
Around 10 a.m., they came to my store asking me to let all the shopkeepers into my store and double lock the doors. 20 minutes later, the police took us out of my store to get away from the neighborhood.
“At the moment we are waiting in a parking lot quite far from the area. Now there are a lot more police, three vans have arrived in addition with dogs”, says the trader.
The trader wonders about a possible terrorist threat but for the moment, no information is known as to the motivations of the individual. It is therefore necessary to remain cautious.
