For two of the arrests, the measure was notified at the Juvenile Penal Institute of Catanzaro, already in prison for another cause. The other three found in Genoa were associated with the Juvenile Penal Institute of Turin
Genoa – In the early hours of yesterday morning, the Genoa State Police, coordinated by the local Prosecutor of the Juvenile Republic, arrested five minors held responsible, in execution of a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the GIP for minors, in competition between them, of two robberies that took place in the first days of last April near the railway station of Genova Quinto.
The first episode occurred to the detriment of a fifteen-year-old who was walking outside the station. The suspects, after having surrounded them, making themselves of their numerical superiority, had forced him to move containing to a more isolated area, where he had been robbed of his cell phone and a wallet 15 euros and a credit card.
After a few minutes, the five had approached two brothers, pure minors, about to get on a train. Also on this occasion, after having surrounded the victims, threatening them with a knife, they took possession of a cell phone, a purse and a designer belt.
The series of crimes committed continued in this historic center, where the group improperly used the credit card just stolen from one of the victims to try to make purchases at a commercial establishment.
The policemen of the Flying Squad, having learned the news of what happened, immediately started the searches for the identification and tracing of the offenders, going back to identifying and reconstructing their movements before and after the events. The results of the investigative action were therefore shared with the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Juvenile Court, which had assumed the coordination of the investigations. The elements collected made it possible to outline a detailed accusatory framework against the five minors, necessary for the issue of the precautionary measure by that Judicial Authority.
