The Hanover fire brigade announced on Wednesday evening that a grenade would be detonated for the coming day. The explosive device was found on an industrial site at Kabelkamp in Brink-Hafen.
The artillery shell of American origin from World War II was found during construction work, the fire department said. Since the grenade has to be detonated on site, an evacuation of the area within a radius of about 500 meters around the site must be necessary. According to the fire brigade, both evacuation and the blast in the evening hours are planned for Thursday.
