How a drunk trucker is accused of breaking from Poland to Belarus

The man wanted to go around quickly from the fur in order to quickly get to the checkpoint at the border.

Police officers detained a drunken Belarusian trucker in Poland, who was delayed in the transfer, the Bialystok tax administration reported.

It is reported that the 58-year-old Belarusian decided to go around the trucks standing in line at the border crossing in Bobrovniki (the adjacent Belarusian one is Berestovitsa) and was not intended for inspection.

“Employees who were on duty in the buffer zone for monitoring trucks in front of the border, noticed a Belarusian truck, bypassing other vehicles standing in line. The driver ignored the calls of the chief of staff,” the statement said.

The patrol, turning on the light and sound alarms, follows the truck. The car was stopped near the nearest gas station.

Due to the fact that the Belarusian showed signs of intoxication, a police patrol was stopped on the spot. As a result, it turned out that in the lake exhaled by the driver – more than 1.35 ppm.
The police opened a criminal case, a citizen of Belarus can bring serious charges for irresponsible behavior on the road.

EU transit ban

As part of the fifth package, decisions were made against Russia and Belarus in applying it, a ban was adopted on the passage and transit through the territory of cars of Belarusian and Russian carriers – from April 16.

There are several exceptions to the ban: transportation by a Belarusian company may be allowed if gas and oil, refined products, and certain types of ores are present in the EU. Also, the ban does not apply to the consumption of pharmaceutical, food, nutritional and food products. Not pursuing a goal.

However, at that time, many kilometers of fur queues formed at the exit from Lithuania and Poland in Belarus: drivers were afraid that they would not have time to leave the EU before April 16.

Earlier, the Lithuanian Customs Service said that if truckers do not have time to leave the EU, the deadline for departure will be violated. In such cases, trucks are sent to the nearest logistics centers or terminals so that carriers can unload the goods and transfer them to another non-sanctioned carrier.

By the way, Belarus has introduced retaliatory measures: from April 16, there is now a ban on the movement of heavy trucks registered in the European Union on the territory of the republic.
